System Integration, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0
Process control networks, PLC programming, SCADA development and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), which allows the transformation of raw data into useful information, has become integral and more prevalent in our design process. Increasingly, traditional paradigms in engineering design are being challenged as technology advances and more cost-effective solutions are sought after.
At Cyntech, we have been collaborating with Siemens for over 2 years, and embarked on a multitude of training courses and expos in order to confidently offer tailor-made industrial process control solutions, to meet any client and/or industry requirement. You can rest assured that with the backing of global powerhouse Siemens, our designs are bound to exceed expectations.

Increasingly, traditional paradigms in engineering design are being challenged as technology advances and more cost-effective solutions are sought after. The result being an increase in diverse thinking, resulting in Cyntech collaborating with Siemens to offer superior digital holistic engineering solutions.
Being at the core of the electrical, control and instrumentation design process from inception stage, we ensure that our graduate engineers, all fully trained with bachelors degrees in electrical and electronic engineering, are also trained in PLC & HMI programming, industrial network configuration and Simocode motor management by the Siemens Training Center. Cyntech is positioned in such a way that we are able to offer these as in-house services, reducing to cost to the client. Our direct involvement in various aspects of process control system integration ultimately increases project value, as it reduces the number of role players in a project including the inherent associated cost.
IIoT will influence the future of supply chain management and plant operations. Through ongoing monitoring and early detection, unnecessary loss is prevented, operational expenses are reduced, maintenance costs are significantly lowered, unscheduled downtime is minimised and the overall safety of operations is increased through the elimination of risks. Cyntech’s use of MindSphere, a cloud-based IIoT system developed by Siemens, gives clients access to a safe and open-source platform (PaaS) through which data can be converted into valuable information. By connecting various physical devices digitally, the maximum amount of raw data can be collected, encrypted, analysed and finally translated into information that can be implemented in analytical models that are aimed at predictive maintenance and optimised operations. This information can then be connected directly to the relevant technicians and management, and will feed directly back into a business’s value drivers.

Integrated involvement mitigates miscommunication, misalignment and misunderstanding between the design engineer and the traditional 3rd party system integrator resulting in the optimized design and commissioning stages. The Industrial Internet of Things is more than a cost-reducing add-on to the current way of doing business; it is the future of how the oil & gas industry and will revolutionise the way plants and operations are run.
